A few days ago I was reviewing the (arguably late) Musrembang RPJMN (as part of my work) and noticed a lot of inconsistencies in his statements and his Astacita. It seems that every idea pitched to him is immediately accepted without considering whole ecosystem of idea and without any strategic direction whatsoever besides 8% economic growth and the free lunch program. Notice that he was pitching the idea of selling carbon credits from forest restoration projects, then went straight to planting more palm trees, before going to planting gula aren and padi gogo in the forest understory; this indicates that the man either has no clue or is somehow trying to impress everyone in the room and falling squat.

Prabowo should’ve kept Pratikno as his Mensetneg/Mensetkab to filter out the fluff instead of putting the extremely inexperienced Major Teddy in that position. Under Jokowi, all letters, suggestions, proposals, etc. to the president were first filtered out by Pratikno and Mensetneg staff, so the president could make the best possible decision, and that doesn’t seem to be happening right now with every letter being sent straight to Prabowo, unfiltered.
