First of all, i want to thank the vibrant community within the nano community, as well as extend my appreciation to the Nano Foundation. I’ve been following Nano for close to 4 years now, and i’ve seen how it has progressed over the years.
There were many adoption opportunities, but none came to fruition. This highlights the real feasibility (or lack there of) for Nano to be a real world and readily-adopted currency. After years of supporting the project that always leads to disappointments when it comes to someone major adopting nano, as well as reading up on nano news religiously on a daily basis, the recent event of Trustable getting dissolved and not communicated to the community is the last straw for me (it really kinda left a sour taste for me).
This is my own personal viewpoint that i think have to be addressed:
- Lack of communication (at this point, this sounds like a broken record).
- Lack of properly-documented roadmap (easily digestable for non-coders to understand). 2a. Lack of accountability to follow the roadmap.
- Lack of adoption by any meaningful merchants (e.g razor, flowhub).
- Failure of Trustable.
- General downward sentiment.
- Gradually dying community spirit/activeness (on reddit, on twitter).
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nano leads to nowhere and the project is abandoned in the near future. This will absolutely be a pity.
Do note that i will continue to support Nano from the sidelines, but personally, i will not be as active in promoting/following nano news anymore (i used to write a python bot to send messages to top influencers on twitter to highlight the pros of nano on a daily basis e.g. Cathie Wood, Lebron James, Ronaldo, Ray Dalio, Tim Cook etc etc). Now, I’ll be spending more time on other projects as well as on my family.
I wish fellow nanites in this community the best of luck! Nano has lost 1 person today (aka me, but not like i’ve contributed significantly to the project other than slight awareness on twitter hahaha), but i’ll continue to support from the sidelines every now and then! :)
