I was shopping with my sister and there were some jackets on sale.
She found the last pink one (her favourite color). She tried it on, and when doing so one of the buttons (metal push-buttons, need a machine to get them on) came off.
I told her to try it on anyway and we will ask, if they maybe have a way to repair it oin the shop. It fit and she loved it. She also said, she might have a way to do it herself.
We went to the cashier to pay for it, showed her the button, that came off. She checked and said it is a manufacturing failure - because it was crocked. She then checked if the small “spare-part-bag” was there and complete with a new button. It was there and we just said, we buy it anyway and try to get the new button on.
She applied an additional discount (I think it was 20%/25%) without us asking.
(I did not ask for an additional discount on pupose becaus it was already 12€ instead of 36€.)
I was reminded of all the Karen stories from the other sub and thought - why can’t they just be friendly. Ask for help and see, what is possible…
Thanks for all those in retail… I don’t want to do your job - especially in the US, where you are not even allowed to sit in between…
BTW: Some weeks later my sister sent me a picture wearing the jacket - she was able to get the button on (she was not sure, because she just has a small machine and the material was very thick and the button bigger than the ones she did in the past)
