OK sorry this is a long one. Been wanting to post for a while and I tried to get all the info here. I’d like to hear any thoughts. Happy to answer questions.

One night last fall I started a fire in my sauna. It’s out in the woods several hundred yards from my house and down a hill. You can’t see the house from it. Or any other houses since it’s deep woods. It was around 8pm or so and it must have been a small or new moon since it was so dark. 

While it warmed up, I took my dog for a walk with my kid. We finished walking the dog and I let my dog off the leash and my kid ran up the porch and into the house. I walked down the hill to the sauna to check on the stove. The fire had gone to coals, so I went to the wood pile next to it to grab some wood. 

When I was grabbing wood, I had a feeling someone was walking down the hill toward me, but it wasn’t just a feeling. Tough to explain but I knew someone was coming toward me and basically almost right next to me. My first thought was that my kid decided not to go inside and had come down to see me. 

That’s when I had this really vivid dream seeing him go to the back door, decide instead to come see me, turn around and start walking toward me. I saw everything. It was convincing and the most vivid dream I’ve ever had. But it was a waking dream, and if those exist I’ve never had one of them before. The more I think about it the stranger the dream part of this gets.  

During the dream I realized there was no way that it could be real. It just didn’t make sense. I know my kid. As soon as I thought that I shook out of it the way you sometimes realize you’re dreaming when you’re falling asleep and the dream doesn’t make sense so you wake yourself up. It wasn’t easy to do- it was like a fight. I don’t know how long it was- it was either super fast or super slow.

I shook out of it and my vision came back to see what was in front of me. The bottom half of my vision was a smokey pearl aura thing. It was white but didn’t make any light. It moved toward me and then toward the right to the woods. At this point I guess I had been frozen in place - like I said either a long time or a short time. But I was super coiled up. My body released and I flinched back about a step or two -threw my back out badly to keep from falling -and then it was gone. 

Pretty strange. Sorry no TL;DR.
