So I have a linux box with a shiny new rx 6800 XT, and a windows 10 box with the same cpu (ryzen 5 5600x) with an rx 6700 XT. I ran AC Valhalla in each. I got about 75 fps on the windows box and only 35 ish Fps on my linux box with Proton experimental. Is there something I should be doing on the linux box to run the game as well as (or faster given the better gpu) on windows, or is the game simply optimized for windows and that’s that? If so, given the 10 minutes or so that it takes to load shaders, I’d just as soon switch video cards and stick to windows for heavy duty gaming.
