New ugrep v4:
374 benchmark tests on x64 and arm64 show that ugrep v4 is faster than GNU grep, ripgrep and silver searcher in 95% of all test cases. Development on ugrep continues to speed it up further, while keeping ugrep’s size reasonably compact.
Ugrep can be used as a grep-compatible replacement. The ugrep
and ug
commands are compatible with GNU grep’s options and output.
The ug
command is enhanced for interactive use with improved output. Options and output are fully configurable at runtime with a .ugrep
file.
Ugrep is free open source with BSD-3 license. Installation packages are available for most Linux distros and for Windows. If a package is not up to date then see the clone & build instructions to build ugrep v4 with a single ./build.sh
command.
Thumbs up to all ugrep users and contributors to make this possible 👍
