My wife is working to return to design work after many years working in our home with our kids. Her degree is in interior design and I think she has all the theory and principles still, but doesn’t know the modern tools. She has had 1 or 2 clients a year for many years, but is getting a lot more attention now.

I work in tech and can help her get anything going. I am proficient in sketchUP and photoshop, and could help her. But those don’t seem like the right tools.

She has 3 active clients now. She is having a hard time laying out 2d floor plans. And creating something called “mood boards”. And some visuals showing fixtures, textures, and fabrics together. Mostly using Pinterest and Canva, but those seem to be lacking for her needs.

Any help on names of tools would be appreciated. She is getting frustrated and resorting to pencil and paper sometimes.

Secondarily, trying to help her on the business side. Looking at FreshBooks for time tracking and invoicing. But love recommendations there too if you can.

Thanks in advance
