I just posted this in the regular Spotify sub and it got removed without a clear indication of why. I don’t think any rules were broken but I was directed to this sub, so I will post again…

Some years ago I decided to search Spotify for a CD I made as a teen with a friend way back in the very early 00s. Lo and behold it’s there, in all its cringy amateurish glory. I get a kick out of it being there and I still tell people about it from time to time. I figured my friend set it up and it probably won’t ever make enough money to justify it being there. My friend and I naturally lost contact with each other around the time I went to university, so I never had a chance to really ask about it. There was no bad falling out or anything, I just ended up really far away.

Unfortunately my friend passed last year. I found out because someone in his family reached out to someone who knew someone in my family, who reached out to me not long after.

Is there a way for me to claim the album on Spotify, or at least figure out who holds it? All but one song was written and performed by me when I was around 16-17 years old. All I have are the old notebooks I used to hash out my lyrics, and maybe some physical copies in storage somewhere if I hadn’t given them away already.

Thanks to anyone with advice.
