So, my partner had a friend coming over for an early brunch. I haven’t seen this friend in ages but they brought their partner as well.

Upon entering our home I realized that the friend’s partner is very muscular. Like jacked, diced, peeled out of his tree, insane.

I’m awkward, nerdy, and got nervous so I said the following

“Hey nice to meet you! Do you have a myostatin deficient?”

Time stopped, no one but me knows what myostatin even is, and it’s time for brunch. My partner looks over, laughs at me in a nice way then just asks “why tho?”.

My partner wasn’t mean or anything, just like recognizing how weird it was of my to say that and diffuse the weird tension of my social suicide. Like why didn’t I just say “wow you’re in great shape!” WHY DID I SAY MYOSTATIN?!

I apologized for being awkward and spent the next hour trying to off and on explain my “compliment” but it never worked, it only got more and more awkward. I’m probably just going to plan to never see them again thanks to this.

TL;DR: upon meeting a new person I realized they were very muscular. I asked if they had a myostatin deficiency. It was weird and I’m weird. They aren’t returning.
