While NVIDIA is busy preparing for series production of the new GB300-AI chip, there are signs of another change in strategy at Jensen Huang – this time at the expense of GeForce graphics cards for end customers. According to reports, production of the RTX 50 series, based on the Blackwell architecture, is to be reduced by 20 to 30 percent, particularly in China. The reason given for this is the prioritization of the AI GPU division, which already generates the lion’s share of sales.

According to information from suppliers, the GB300 itself has been in preparation for mass production since May. Full operation is scheduled for the end of 2025, although it is already clear that the preparatory work will consume massive wafer quotas. This primarily affects TSMC 4N production, on which all RTX 50 cards are based. In short, the distribution of resources is visibly shifting in favor of the AI architecture – a course that NVIDIA had already begun with Hopper and Grace.
