Original Title: Ella Cinders (1925-1961) debuted in papers June 1, 1925, 100 years ago today. The story about a bob-haired girl in rags who tries to make a name for herself in Hollywood, but repeatedly falls short, was an instant hit. In 1926 it became the first comic strip to be adapted into a feature length film.
