I wanted to share my experience with Dopplegängers. This must’ve happen when I was 8 years old. I was in the living room watching mythbusters and my grandma was in the kitchen washing the dishes. For context, the living room and kitchen were connected through a hall and there was a room in between them. In order to leave the house, you had to walk through the living room and in front of the TV as the TV was against one wall and the couch against the opposite wall. We had no back door or any other way to access the house. Around sundown, my grandma walked through the living room and said she was going to the store. No problem, she did this all the time! An hour went by, and I started to get worried. Then, I began to hear stuff moving around coming from the hall. All the lights were off, and I was terrified because I thought either someone broke into the house or there was something moving stuff around. This was pre-cellphones, so I had no way to contact my grandma or parents as the only phone was in the kitchen. Meaning I had to make my way through the unknown to reach the phone and that was not a chance I was willing to take. After another 30 minutes I decided to gather the courage and turn on the lights of the house. As I turned the lights on I saw my grandma taking a nap in the room between the kitchen and living room. I woke her up and told her what happened and she said she had never left the house. I told my parents what happen and they were as puzzled as I was. To this day the topic will come up every now and then, and my grandma still remembers that day, my parents remember me telling them about it, and I remember a few details about it.
