Original Title: The Gallops Crop Circle | On 15 May 2025, a Formation Appeared in a Barley Field Near Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, England | Unlike Typical Hoaxes, the Stems Show Features Associated with Anomalous Formations (Photos)

On the 15th of May, this crop formation appeared on a Farm in Sutton Veny.

The consensus, and any causal web search will inform you that the crop circle phenomenon has been thoroughly debunked, with the source of the formations being teams of individuals with boards, creeping about the countryside at night.

It’s true that many man-made crop circles appear in Wiltshire each year. However, what the reporting does not mention is the anomalous features observed in some formations - features that as far as i’m aware have not officially been explained (or even openly acknowledged)

In man-made circles, the stalks are crushed by boards, leaving clear signs of damage. But in some cases, the stems are not snapped or broken. Instead they are warped or bent at the nodes. Notably, the stems do not die after and are able to continue to grow afterwards.

The farmer of the land where the Gallops Circle appeared was good enough to open the site up to the public, and so I was able to go down to get some photos of the stalks.

Seemingly all of the stalks are warped in this way

Within the imprint areas, the stalks are warped at the nodes, sometimes as far as 45 degree angles.

While outside the imprinted areas, the stems are perfectly straight. It is worth noting that these photos are not of anomalies. As far as I could see, every single stalk within the imprinted areas is warped at the stems. I could also not find a single case outside of the imprinted areas.

Straight stems on the outside and untouched areas

The stems are also not simply lying flat, but seem to be elegantly weaved together.

I got the chance to speak to the farmer, who was extremely nice, if still somewhat bemused by the whole ordeal. After discovering it, she had been rather distressed at the damage and loss of income (British farmers are having a hard time as it is), and had reported the incident to the police.

Apparently soon afterwards, people began to trespass on the land in order to get at it, and so she contacted Crop Circle Access UK, who came to document the formation and wanted to publish it on their website. With them she decided that the best way forward would be to open the site to the public and accept donations on site and via gofundme as a way to offset some of the damage.

In the weeks since, she has apparently had some rather interesting visitors, including a geophysics team from Norway, who came to take readings, and informed her that they gathered some very unusual data.

I’d recommend anyone interested and able should go check the site out for themselves as it is fairly unusual for the farmers to allow access, especially in a seemingly legit case such as this.
