I spent about a week off the bike with a stomach infection that left me with fever and no real ability to eat or recover properly. I’ve been back training for a few days now, and things are improving. I’m starting to feel better on the bike, but the body is still recovering, and I’ve lost some strength and weight along the way. It’s been frustrating to have another setback this season, especially with the timing - but that’s part of the sport. The plan now is to race Tour de Suisse instead, as part of the build-up towards being fully ready for the Tour de France. There’s still time, and I’m fully focused on getting back to where I want to be."
