You ever have a movie stuck in your head for years? Since you were a kid you could remember these bits and pieces but any effort to search or discuss this vague memory comes back with nothing?
For over 20 years I’ve been searching for this movie and it just came on TV randomly a couple hours ago. My movie was House (1985). For so long I thought i dreamt this movie or something, i honestly thought it was a weird offshoot of Poltergeist.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it. This novelist’s son vanishes from his senile aunt’s house that she claims is haunted. Before hanging herself in said house she claims that the house took his son. This leads to the novelist’s divorce and eventually him moving into the house to write his next book about his time in Vietnam. His past comes back to haunt him, the house comes to haunt him, all the while he’s desperately searching for his son.
Its a bit cheesy but i still loved it just as much today, although it didn’t scare the piss out of me this time. You guys should check it out if you haven’t and tell me what you think.
What’s your forgotten memory movie? Whats the premise that you can’t seem to find the movie that it comes from? I’d love to hear them.
