I don’t play games during weekdays, only on Friday evenings and during the weekends. But recently I’ve been seeing some Dota content in my YouTube recommended for some reason so I got a bit curious. I currently play LoL Wild Rift as my only MOBA experience. Watching some Dota beginner videos, seems like it is immensely more complex than LoL with you being able to kill your own minions, a little ball with a shield spawning at the 20 minute mark etc

But yeah, is it a huge time sink to just get the basics to Dota down? Since I only am able to play a few days per week, and I have to learn the entire hero pool just to know what’s going on. It took me extremely long to just understand the rough outline of LoL’s champions and what they do, like a character called Pyke that can 1 shot you when a little icon appears beside your health bar.
