My husband has been with a company for 2 years. I’m starting to get a bit frustrated with the company as they expect him to commute 4-5.5 hours a day to a job site (round trip) for an 8 hour day making 29/hour in Washington state. None of those travel hours are paid. We live an hour south of the office and the job site is about an hour and a half from the office. He usually commutes to the office and then catches a ride with another coworker who also is not paid for travel m, and then commute to the job site. I understand him not being paid for the travel time to the office but surely he would get paid from the office to job site. No company vehicle, no company phone. In fact he just bought a brand new car in August of last year with 3.1 miles on the odometer and has already put 20,500 miles on it. Realistically we have probably put about 4000 personal miles on it but that’s me stretching. His GM is my cousin and I’m starting to really get pissed because I feel like they are taking advantage of him. Should I say something to my cousin (his boss)? It’s frustrating because he leaves for work at 3:30am and doesn’t usually get home until 6-6:30 pm and is only paid 8 hours.
