TW: mentions of disordered eating!!
I (22F) have a big appetite and always have had a big appetite since I was a kid. I am always a hungry person, like I need to have two-three big meals a day and a few snacks thrown in there. If I don’t eat something within a reasonable amount of time, I get pretty hangry.
However, I have always gotten comments from people on how much I eat. Comments of “wow, how can you eat that much?” to jokes about how I always seem to be eating something to more negative ones that have stuck with me like “wow, you eat as much as a truck driver!”.
As a result, I have and can get pretty self-conscious about this and my self-consciousness over my big appetite can lead to disordered eating habits/thoughts, which sucks.
Do any other women get self-conscious about having a big appetite due to having people making comments about it?
