Did 2 and a half years of OE 2 jobs managed to get to a ‘fuck you’ position. So company has lately been a pain draining everyone shit tons of overtime no time to even have lunch. Wife got an amazing opportunity. Low cost of living area high quality if life great salary. We’ve made it. I’ll manage the investments while she’s getting a dream Job. I’ll just through all the buzzwords around so we kind of FIREd.

Now the catch it’s been a super fast turnover we’re moving in a week and I gave my noticed told them I would have to work remotely for most of my period. We have remote policy In place that I have been granted, so I’ll use for my notice period.

Sent a super nice message to HR. Nightmare ensues. You can’t leave on day X your notice period is 3 times that. Oh and BTW you can use your unlimited holidays but you’ll have to pay us back before for the “unlimited holiday” you haven’t accrued.

Also you need a formal acceptance of your resignation from your manager before we can start the process.

Are we back to slavery and I wasn’t told?
