I’m so sick of the Oppression Olympics and label anyway you want rhetoric being EVERYWHERE. I want trans friends because it’s nice to be able to speak about certain trans related issues with someone who understands, but everyone now(at least around me) is so far leftist. I bring up a half transmed aligned opinion and I’m the devil. It’s literally so stressful.
I try to respect everyone even if I dont agree with their labeling or whatever. Shit, I use neopronouns within reason if someone asks because I just believe in respect, but it seems recently respect means nothing if we don’t completely agree. How do these people not see the harm they’re causing?
It’s always some bs about “they’re not gonna pick you”. They did pick us, we were getting to an ok point before people started pushing things too far with forcing microlabels and neopronouns and getting aggressive about misgendering with no efforts to pass making us all look fucking apeshit.
I live in a red state. I work with cops. It’s so MAGA at my job, we had a bus to take anyone who wanted to the inauguration and have Fox and NewsMax playing all day. My coworkers know I’m trans and they respect the fuck out of me. They helped me get my legal name change, correct anyone who misgenders me, donated leave to me for my hysto and top surgery, and are comfortable talking to me in depth about trans related issue. The general consensus among them is that they 100% recognize trans people exist, but they also recognize it is a very small percentage of the population and theres a lot of people confused or faking.
Obviously there are going to be hardcore haters who don’t recognize trans people, but it is such a small percentage of the population. We wouldnt be in this mess if not for the image we have gotten from people being so loud about irrelevance. I hate it. So much.
