The Girl with the Needle (2024) immediately comes to mind. The filming of it is depressing and bleak in itself but matching that with a baby killer case inspired by a true story is beyond depressing. I am pleased they went with a relatively happy ending for the child of the baby killer though.
What other movies are really depressing but have a relatively happy ending compared to the rest of the story?
