I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but hypothetically, if they don’t go extinct. In hundreds or even thousands of years, could other non human primates such as chimpanzees or gorillas, slowly evolve into more sophisticated primates like humans? Could their life expectancies go up, start slowly walking more like humans, start being able to vocalize words better instead of screeching and making noises? I’m fascinated by chimps and gorillas, because they are so human like in the way they act and their ability to look around like humans, pick things up with their hands, feel human like anger and emotion, do “complicated” things that no other animal besides humans can do, such as unscrewing a bottle cap or using a remote or scrolling on a phone etc. Will they continue to evolve as time goes on?
