I was semi reminded of this when I saw one of the rare remaining posts from people claiming that the transmog system was a bad idea.
Because I will, wholeheartedly say, without question, that Transmogging and the like has been one of the most healthy systems added to the game and nobody can convince me otherwise.
As a system, it instantly revitalised every single dungeon in the game, not as a constant mind but as a slow trickle. It motivates old raids, expansions, quest lines and more. It allows the game to have rewards that does not impact player power and therefor is firmly optional and up to your leisure when you do them. It created a whole new endgame, where people gather and create new looks, heck we have a mini holiday event about that alone.
I still remember the days when people insisted that transmogs were bad, because it meant you couldn’t see what other people had acomplished, and how “back in my day, when you saw someone wearing Tier 2, you knew they were a badass” and things like that.
And I find that so freaking funny with the context of classic as well as the point that without transmog, a lot of people just kinda end up looking the same and it is kinda lame.
I am glad that the mindset has mostly died out, but you sometime see a few stragglers and I still both find it insane and amusing that the raw stubbornness remain.
Just my view of it though, what do you guys think?
