Not sure this story belongs here but something I just read reminded me of it and I thought I’d share. Lived in NJ and one very cold January my wife made a ton of food and we ran out of room in the fridges. Since it was cold, I was already keeping some things like beer and pies out in the garage. It was so cold things were freezing.
Well I had a large pan of lasagna that was baked and needed to be kept cold. Not sure why I did this but I put it on the roof of a minivan that we had at the time. I completely forgot about that and I guess we had so much food we didn’t miss that large pan. I drove that van to work all week on various interstate highways at 75 mph. The following Saturday I asked my wife what we were having for dinner and she said ‘the lasagna you have out in the garage’. Thats when I remembered putting it on the roof. I cringed thinking that it likely flew off the roof and could have done some serious damage to someone on the highway. I went out to the garage and lo and behold it was still on the roof, kind of jammed in under the roof rail. So I grabbed it and never admitted my stupid mistake until after we ate it. I figured my wife would fight with me over the safety of eating it after what it had been through but honestly it was the best lasagna ever. Thats one of our now famous ‘stupid Dad moves’ that we joke about
