We’ve started attending a non denominational church. And I mean we literally just started…like a month ago.
It came to pass that 2 weeks ago they announced they needed member help the following Sunday doing a deep clean of the building. I looked at my wife and said “I literally just quit a church that does that”. She laughed.
To be fair, they only do this once or twice a year. It’s right after the Sunday service. It’s only for 2 hours. They provide all the supplies and feed everyone doughnuts while they work.
I didn’t go.
ETA: I honestly don’t have a problem with helping on a project like this. It’s just funny/ironic that it happened right when we’re leaving the mormon church. (Satan; please enjoy this victory from me). And we weren’t able to go last weekend anyway.
