I’m genuinely trying to understand the reasoning here.Upon launching one of my Paradox games today, I was prompted by Windows with a message asking whether I wanted to allow location access specifically so the Paradox Launcher could use GPS or Wi-Fi signals to determine my precise physical location.I declined, because frankly, I don’t see why my location is needed just to play a game I’ve already paid for. However, denying the request immediately closed the launcher and prevented the game from starting.I’m concerned by this for a few reasons: Single-player games should not require location data. No clear explanation is given as to why it’s needed. Blocking or disabling it prevents access to the game entirely. This seems like a very aggressive overstep for a launcher that didn’t need this previously. If this is about regional pricing, GDPR compliance, or telemetry just say so. But right now, it feels like players are being coerced into sharing data that shouldn’t be mandatory for gameplay.I’m posting this not to start drama, but because I believe this kind of requirement deserves open discussion and transparency from the devs. If there’s a legitimate reason, we should know it. If not, it needs to be reconsidered.
