So I 25M, had a few friends over yesterday. We were drinking and having a good time. Somewhat deep in around 1AM we were all chatting and my Friends friend (27F) (who is quite overweight) chimed into our conversation. We were all talking about dating and whatnot and she, out of the blue random asks if I would date a woman like her. I respond with a quick “No” she asks why and without any hesitation I answer “Because of your weight, I’m not attracted to overweight people” Then it’s like I sobered up (at least that’s how it felt) the whole room kinda just stopped and stared. She seemed hurt and got angry and was crying. I went to ask if she was okay but mid sentence a member of her friend group starts verbally assaulting me.

She calls me fatphobic and a horrible person. I kinda just ignore her and then ask the girl how she’s doing, she’s so mad she runs out the door and all the girls leave. Most of my guy friends leave too except for my buddy who was crashing on my couch. He then told me I was bold for that and promptly turned my tv on and fell asleep. The whole time I’m lost trying to figure out how I’m wrong for this and just went to bed. This is stupid to me and I want to see if I’m right here so AITA?
