I’ve booked the silent car on the SJ a few times when I needed to get some work done and every time there’s been someone taking a phone call, having a conversation with another passenger, and one time there was even a guy watching tiktok videos on his phone with no headphones for the entire trip. At first I thought it might be a cultural thing, but I started traveling in the silent sections on the Öresundståg and people are actually quiet in those. I would say something but since I can’t speak Swedish I feel like it’s not my place / they might not speak English / it might just be awkward conversation.
