EDIT: So it’s not as bad as what many people are saying after all… Thanks a lot for answering my queries :) Looking forward to a good trip!
Been browsing this sub lately and found a lot of Q&As about safety in the CBD after dark. However, I can’t find a thread that is relevant to me.
I’ll be staying around the Northbridge side of William St and will be heading out early (5-6am) to catch the earliest train for my itinerary. I can either take the Cultural Centre (which many have mentioned that it can be quite dodgy at night), or Yagan Square (which, according to the mood of this sub, is also not a very pleasant place).
So how sketchy is sketchy? And how is it like in the early morning, 5-6am?
I have been to Perth before and on my previous trip, had encountered quite a lot of homeless people around William St Maccas on a WA Day morning. So far on my few trips to Perth (and Sydney) things were alright (in Sydney some random dude asked me whether I’m Chinese outside my hotel in Chinatown in early morning; on my last trip to Perth the only unpleasant experience was a random dude sarcastically calling me “How’s it goin’ scholar” while we were walking towards Elizabeth Quay.
I read a few threads about meth heads but have little idea of how they generally looked like. The city where I’m from don’t usually have druggies out in the streets because they’d be whipped or hanged if caught.
