My husband and I are arguing about this.

His best friend is always late to everything. It doesn’t matter what it is or where it is, he will be late.

He once promised us free tickets to an event. We waited in the parking lot for an hour before buying our own tickets and meeting up with them when they showed up 2 hours after that.

We’ve been invited to dinner at his house, only for him not to be there at the designated time. He just had to run out to get something. This has happened more than once. The longest we’ve waited is 2 hours.

When we’ve gone on road trips, it doesn’t matter if we are picking them up or they are picking us up, they are never on time. We’ve shown up and they’ve still be sleeping. When they picked us up, they were an hour late after insisting on an early departure.

And I’m sick of it.

We’ve talked to them about their tardiness and they’ve brushed us off, quite literally. I told him I woke up early to make sure I was on time and would have appreciated a phone call. He kind of waved me away with his hand. I said, “I’m serious. Look at me. I am serious.”

That made for an awkward visit.

Now I don’t even want to deal with him anymore but he’s husband’s BFF. I’ve told husband to go without me. He won’t.
