I’ve owned Guild Wars 2 since it came out years ago, but never really got into it. I played through the main story that was out, rarely logged in to claim the living world seasons (I think only 2 of them?), and pretty much didn’t touch the game.

I picked up the first 3 expansions as a bundle sale at some point and played for a while before taking another beak. Then Janthir Wilds came out and I got SotO on sale and have been putting in a lot more hours since.

Anyway, the point of that is that I technically have a really old account, but not a single legendary in my collection despite having 300 mastery points (I really like collecting these) and a couple hundred hours of the game.

I saw the obsidian legendary gear and started working on that and considered also working on my first legendary weapon since I use mesmer with greatsword and Sunrise is in the starter kit. Then I test how long it felt to get a Gift of Battle and went “Nah, I’ll just work on the armor for now.” Then Anet did this WvW rush event, I got a Gift of Battle in about 1 hour of play and purchased the Starter Kit for the first time.

Here is the main reason I am making this post. I thought the starter kit would just bring up a store interface to exchange it for the weapon kit of your choice, but no, it does something far cooler. The kit teleports you to this amazing looking magic space vault with a huge platform at the center. You then talk to a person and they generate a version of your character wielding each of the 4 legendary weapons on the platform. This was way beyond my expectations and is so epic feeling and useful that I really want to say thanks to Anet for creating this.

Not only can you see what each weapon will clearly look like with you wielding it, you can ask your clones to draw/stow it and walk around with it. Absolutely amazing polish for this system that could have just been “use this item in your inventory to get another item”. Thank you for this really cool experience!

Now I just need to farm ectos and materials for Gift of Might
