As seen in the polls, the Republicans represent the interests of the vast majority of their self-proclaimed constituents when it comes to Israel’s actions against Gaza and Iran, while the Democrats represent only a very small minority of their self-proclaimed voters. Yet, the latter keep voting for them. Why? I feel like that clearly shows that for these voters it’s not about what consequences their actions have, but only about whether what they say sounds virtuous/good. See also, e.g., their claimed stance on abortion (Democrat voters would probably pretend they’re for it, while their actions–voting, at least, which I know isn’t everything–speak otherwise, as the Dems have shown to be de facto against it). But I guess we’ve already known that.
