Hi, everyone! I’m a genre fiction author using RPI in one of my books, and I’m looking to interview as a means of research to accurately depict the campus.
If anyone’s interested, let me know!
In my book, it’s 10 years post-apocalypse, and RPI is a safe point, guarded by armed soldiers, where scientists conduct experiments.
I’m specifically wondering how the inside of some buildings look. I’ve tried Google to no avail, and I don’t want to convey something improperly. I know this is fiction, and it’s post-apocalypse, so there are liberties I can take, but I don’t want to be too outlandish. I just want accurate information I can work with.
-
these people stow away zombies for their experiments. At first, I thought about using the Service Building — the building would’ve been gutted and redesigned to hold the zombies.
-
from here, my main characters, who are trespassing on the campus, in search of information, make their way to the quad.
-
the main characters are looking for a computer — any computer — but I’d like it to be in a building with at least two stories and separate rooms (classrooms/offices) rather than open floor/lobby/library.
I’m happy to answer any questions for clarity! Like I said, I know I can take liberties, but I want something accurate to work with rather than something outlandishly inaccurate to fit my narrative, since RPI is a real place.
