My sister in law is pregnant with baby number 2. Nothing on her registry is under $50. The hosts are also asking that we bring a box of diapers (the most expensive, all natural brand… smallest box at Target costs $28) and “self care gift” for baby and/or mama.

AITA if I only buy the diapers and a self care gift?

ETA: I have 4 of my own children to financially care for, two of which I regularly buy diapers for. My two oldest kiddos have birthdays in the next two months (baby shower happens to fall between the two) and I would prefer to spend the money on my own children. Financially, we do “ok”, but SIL and BIL do much better. I am not close with this sister in law (she’s my partners older step sister). She didn’t get me a baby shower gift for my one and only biological child (three older kiddos are adopted and we didn’t have a baby shower or adoption party or anything), instead piggy backed on my MIL’s gift (this is her mother).
