3 years ago I (26F) started to have weird little white dots in my discharge around ovulation. I had just started having sex for the first time 4 months prior. A couple months after they appeared, more and more where there to the point that my discharge was always dry and clumpy, and made my vagina hurt and sex uncomfortable for me and male partners. I got treated for yeast infections because it looks somewhat like a yeast infection, but a few months of treatment later the pain and discharge were still there, and the tests came back negative for yeast and BV. I got tested for every STI several times, including mycoplasma, all negative. Tried boric acid, did not work. Here is the discharge:
It got to the point that walking around during the day was painful, and partners complained that I was dry, so I stopped having sex all together 10 months ago. My symptoms are still the same, except now my urine gets cloudy and I tested positive for high presence of bacteria in my urine at my last physical (but the urine culture came back normal). I have seen 5 GYNs who don’t know what I have. The last one I saw is a specialist at one of the best hospitals in the US and all she could tell me was ‘your skin is just really sensitive, put some vaseline on there and do some pelvic exercises’. Applying some moisturizer did help, but the dry discharge is still there.
I honestly feel insane, having this pain for most of the month every month for years but no one has answers and end up acting like it’s not a big deal. My mother had endometriosis and had to have a lot of her reproductive track removed as a result and although my symptoms don’t line up with that, I was hoping that the docs would do some tests for that and an ultrasound to know what’s going on. But it’s always been pushed away because the symptoms don’t line up.
So this post is one last stretch to see if anyone can think of anything else. At this point I don’t think I can ever have good or any sex again, and if this continues maybe it’s just best to take everything out so I don’t get any symptoms or desire anymore. I’m tired, and heartbroken, but I also want it to stop. Any ideas before I start looking into that would really help. Thanks for reading.
