I work at a grocery store in a resort town. I joke the hiring process is does you breath fog a mirror. We have a lot of great workers who don’t always speak the best English. I was not in my department but was reshelving some items and saw a customer at the exit her cart was completely full and bagged. She asked “doesn’t anyone speak English here?”.
My response was, “thank you have a nice day”. Short hand for get the f out and please don’t come back. But instead of leaving she goes to customer service and files a complaint against me. Needless to say the complaint went nowhere, but really you are at the exit and I answered your question in English, so now you need to add an extra 5 minutes to talk to a different manager sure.
I don’t get it being angry all the time is exhausting… Yet here you are … Have a nice day
