I know people see “NashWeedle” and roll their eyes or ask “who?”, but the guy has gotten a few things right this year, mainly about Direct timings and games that would be featured in those directs. He came onto AttacktheBacklog’s podcast to chat about what he currently hears around future Nintendo happenings.

Here is what he has heard:

-DLSS implementation for Switch 2 games will begin to show up more next year because the dev kits received a DLSS update just this year in March

-Day 4 Night Studio (David Soliani/Mario+Rabbids guy’s new studio) has met with Nintendo

  • Beginning in January, a marketing campaign will kickoff with multiple dates related to Legend of Zelda projects. He does not know what the campaign is about, but he was told it would last all year, with Zelda announcements dropping throughout.

-Nintendo is planning on returning to the horror genre (Luigi’s Mansion not included lol)

-The next general Direct will be 2nd week of September, as other sources have stated. It will have the release date for MP4 but also announce an MP4 Direct coming later. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will also get it’s release date.

-Elden Ring Tarnished Edition and Final Fantasy 7 Remake dates will also be featured in the general Direct

-There is a possibility of the Mario 40th Anniversary Direct being next week, but he isn’t certain

-He has heard nothing about Animal Crossing, his previous rumor was that it was a 2026 game

-Doom the Dark Ages is coming (surprising nobody)

  • He believes that Wii NSO is closer than DS NSO
