Tbh I think it’s Clemson. They ran into a super talented ,hungry and motivated LSU team however they were throughly outplayed majority of that game. Their offensive line got manhandled and their wideouts couldn’t get open. It wasn’t like LSU was running sophisticated coverage looks that OSU ran vs Texas, they played a ton of single high man to man and left their corners on islands. It’s a Mano e Mano defensive game-plan and the LSU db’s won decisively. Antonio Williams getting hurt didn’t help but Wesco/moore are studs and Clemson has good depth at wr but in man coverage situations LSU’s corners were sticky specifically mansoor Delane, pj woodland and 5 star true Freshmen dj pickett they all played great.
Cade also did not live up to the “ best qb in the country “ hype. He was throughly outplayed by nussmeier.
Defensively Clemson was mostly solid but still gave up some leakage against the run and Nuss had a lot of command of that game that elite d-line only sacking him once despite going against a brand new o line is disappointing.
Clemson has a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way but they once again failed to beat another good team despite having the continuity advantage and home field.
