I know we already have sloped frames, which is a start…

But after playing around with Dune Awakening’s building system, I think Stationeers would benefit from getting some extra shapes for walls at least. Wedge walls are what comes to mind immediately. Basically normal flat walls cut in half diagonally.

And if we had those both as walls and as windows, and if we could combine them together, we could create some nice unique looking windows in our bases. Just allow more than 1 wall to exist in one tile as long as they don’t overlap (one in one corner, the other in the opposite corner).

We could also go further. What if we could build walls in the cable/pipe grid? Instead of placing a full 5x5 wall, we could place individual 1x1 pieces.

And why stop there. Why not have (airtight) sloped walls? We have the sloped frames and cladding. If airtight walls could also be sloped, we could create nice rounded corners for our bases, not just another box after box after box after box after box after box.

The only reason I can see this not being a thing is the way atmospherics work right now. It’s all confined to the frame/sized boxes at the moment. So I guess sloped and 1x1 walls can be an issue.

But wedge walls should still be doable, since they are still confined to the original grid, they are just cut in half diagonally.
