A “party friend” I made last year and only see at this particular annual event just sent me a loooooooong text telling me that he’s had a crush on me since he met me and that while he’s sure it’ll pass, he “had to let me know” that I turn him on.

There’s a lot more in the text but that’s what I caught when I skimmed it. I don’t have the fortitude to actually read the whole thing.

This man is easily my dad’s age and has been married for a long time. And my own spouse was there too.

I’m so pissed. He and I really hit it off when we met last year, over a lot of obscure shared interests. He’s also basically a co-host of this event, so it’s not like I can attend and not cross paths with him. Which means not only do I miss out on a friendship, but the event itself and all the other people I’ve connected with there.

I haven’t responded to his text yet. I’m not sure if I will or if I’ll just block him and be done with it. I’m just sad and angry and I feel so gross.
