Just tried to book a consultation with a Dr to have a look at my son. My god. The chick on the other end of the phone didn’t speak a word of English. Took 45 mins to get his name right, after spelling it phonetically 10 times, and having her butcher it multiple times.

I could almost concede this if he had a challenging or unique name. He does not. He has a “normal” name with 5 letters.

I had to phonetically spell my email. Ever had to use Phonetics to spell gmail.com?

I get it, English can be challenging and we all have to start somewhere. But being a medical receptionist isn’t the place to start.
