The problem is these private servers are getting greedy af caring more about competition than preserving the private server scene. They had over a decade to do this.

If Blizzard shuts down a server that’s open source, 2 more will prop up in its place. It’s a costly game of whack-a-mole. It’s going to be too expensive to try to shut them all down.
