A week ago I 26m and my family helped one of my Cousin’s family relocate to a place eight hours away. This mainly involved me using my pickup and one of my trailers to haul all of their boxes and the furniture not taken by a company they hired. Unfortunately this “nice country drive” turned into a nightmare due to bad weather and traffic which made driving stick brutal.

My actual problems started when it was time for everybody to call it a day. Despite saying she had enough air mattresses, blankets, and pillows for everyone this wasn’t the case. Making things worse there were no hotels nearby nor any furniture people could sleep on as it was with a moving company. Due to this shortage, I wound up being the only person who wasn’t able to sleep as even doing so in my truck didn’t work. The following night was no better as during the day I did all the lifting only to once again have to try and sleep in my truck.

By 3 am the following morning I was so tired that I began to feel cold and sick which led to me saying fuck this. Instead of staying, I decided to simply go home and stop at the first hotel I come across on the highway. Since everyone was sleeping I didn’t bother going into the house before hitting the road. After a solid 40 minutes of driving I wound up finding a hotel to stay at for the night. Before going to bed I called my fiancée and filled her in on the situation and my plans to go home.

Shit really hit the fan the next day when my cousins and the others started wondering where I was. The moment I told them I was going home and my reasons for doing so they started going off on me. When I stopped taking their calls they started sending angry texts saying I am an asshole and that they plan on disowning me. When I stopped answering all-together they started bombarding my fiancée.
