So here’s what happened with Zoomcar:
- I paid ₹6,187 for renting a car for 3 days from them and using a coupon I was promised **₹**273 as cashback.
- Due to a glitch, instead of refunding me ₹273, Zoomcar refunded it 21 times, a total amount of ₹5733
- I immediately informed their team and told them I’d return the excess (₹5,460). They reassured me it would reflect on the app/payment system, so I waited.
- For over a month, nothing happened on the app despite follow-ups.
- Now suddenly, I’ve received a fake legal notice asking me to pay the entire ₹5,733, as if I never paid anything.
I already have proof of payment, conversations with their team, and evidence that I acted in good faith to resolve this. Yet instead of fixing their system, Zoomcar is harassing me with a bogus legal notice.
This isn’t just bad customer experience - it’s a horrible precedent where the company punishes customers for their own technical errors. I have paid the amount of 5733 because their support team is trash and will never try to solve the issue.
Posting this here to:
- Warn others about Zoomcar’s shady practices.
- Ask - has anyone else faced this?
