I was binge watching the last season of Demon Slayer when my father came home and decided to watch along with me. He liked it so much that he came with me to watch the Infinite Castle movie in the cinema. My Mother got an ear full of his ravings about a new series and started watching it in her spare time aswell.
They’re on the sofa now watching Episode 4 of the Entertainment district arc and they’re chatting about how they’re surprised by how great the show is and how they’re “Almost done already” and how they “Won’t have anything to watch after this.” 😅
So I ask you, The good people of Reddit, What shows can I recommend to my 60 year old parents who have just dipped their toe into anime?
Edit: Just to give a few extra details. I asked my father what he liked about the movie once it was finished and he said that he really enjoyed the animation style. He also mentioned that he’s seen 1 or 2 Ghibli movies before and said they were “really interesting and pretty to look at.”
My mother said she likes “The supernatural side of things. Nothing Overly bloodthirsty but definitely more on the serious side like Lord of the rings. Like a dark fantasy style.” 😅
Your parents sound like they have a great eye for good stories and animation I’m actually looking for beta readers for a fantasy novel that leans into the romantasy and dark fantasy vibes a bit like what your mom described If either of them would be interested in reading and sharing a few thoughts I’d love for them to check it out Here’s the link if they’re curious https://storyoriginapp.com/betacopies/fa6b74b0-01c8-4cd0-8f9f-d67da6b3749e Thanks for letting me share and I hope you all find some new favorites
