I am 24, and my husband is 37. We’ve been married for about 4 years and have a 5 year old. We met when I was 18.
I have saw so many horrible stories of women being assaulted physically because she denied a man her phone number. I have a friend who had a gun pulled on her over it.
Men usually leave me alone when I am with my husband, but going out alone is a entirely different story! I feel so intimidated walking to my car and being approached. Telling them I’m married usually doesn’t even work, they are persistent or will continue to cat call or bother me.
I’ve already been sexually assaulted as a teenager and I’m scared of doing anything to provoke anything (this is sad).
So, I usually either give them my husbands number, a combination of both our numbers (something fake) or my number sometimes if I’m on the spot and just never text back and block it.
My husband says I should just tell them no but I don’t think he understands how intimidated I feel when I’m by myself and afraid of how they may react.
