Lemmy in Sync for Reddit for Everything

Now that Sync for Reddit has removed its DRM I figured it’s time for a how to guide on patching in compatibility with Everything. Here goes:

  1. Install ReVanced Manager: Download and install the ReVanced Manager APK from the official GitHub repository.
  2. Change Patch Organization: Open ReVanced Manager, go to “Settings”, and tap on “Sources”. Change the patches organization to “everything-gripe.”
  3. Update Sync for Reddit: Ensure Sync for Reddit is updated to the version released on June 30th (v23.06.30) or later.
  4. Patch Sync for Reddit: Go to “Patcher”, and tap on “Select an application.” Choose Sync for Reddit from the list of installed apps.
  5. Select the patch: Choose the change-reddit-url patch from the list of available patches. This patch enables Sync for Reddit to connect with other services.
  6. Provide a URL: To use this patch, you must provide a URL. Create a file named reddit_url_revanced.txt in your internal storage (/data/storage/emulated/0/) with the text “everything.gripe” (without parentheses) as its content. Alternatively, you can provide the URL using patch options.
  7. Apply the patch: Tap on “Apply” in ReVanced Manager to apply the selected patch to Sync for Reddit.
  8. Install Sync for Reddit: To install the patched Sync for Reddit, you must first uninstall the official Sync for Reddit application, then return to ReVanced Manager and hit Install.
