First time poster on this sub. I’ll be honest with y’all… I’ve always wanted to believe and I could say I’ve had 1-2 weird experiences… unfortunately it was when I was younger (grade school/middle school). With that said, I had a very wtf experience about two months ago and me and the wife’s have gotten to terms with it … we experienced something not quite right. We live on an island which unfortunately car crashes and deaths due to them , are very common, the population and amount of car crashes is super disproportionate. The wife and I both work hospitality and we tend to get off around midnight sometimes a little later (1-2am) . I got off a little earlier than her so I walked over to her work , waited for her and noticed she was a bit tired so I decided to drive (stating this as of now, we were both completely sober … she had half a glass of wine and I had nothing to drink that day ). Anyways I decided to take the “scenic route” home which basically means through two and on the coast of the island (not that it matters much at 2am and it’s dark ) . Remember this is a small island all its only 1 lane each way. I’m driving and I’m taking to my wife about our day … blah blah blah. As we are reaching town we catch up to a car (as I guess it was going slower than we were ) but still maintained a decent distance… let’s say , 10-15 meters. I’m not in a rush so I can just keep a steady pace and relatively the same distance consistently. Well, at a distance we see the all to well known blue and red lights of a cop car parked in a diagonal , basically blocking almost both lanes … but completely covering the lane we’re are on. We think it could be construction work or an accident etc . Here’s the part that scared the hell out of us. So the car is still ahead of us , and he seems to go around the cop car that’s parked … which then I just assume it must be road work , hence why the car was able to pass around the cop car. Well, while still keeping a decent speed as I’m approaching the cop car and ready to go around it and maybe see whatever construction is going on …. I have to slam the breaks. Like slam them!!! And both my wife look at each other and almost in synch we say “wtf !!??” … there was no pass, yes the cop car was almost block both lanes and the rest was blocked by the familiar yellow caution tape. There was absolutely no pass, and there had been a car crash, the car was flipped a little ahead of the cop car and they were picking up pieces with a shovel … I can still hear the noise of the shovel again the road / concrete and glass. Here’s the crazy party, we had to reverse and turn around … there was no space to do a u turn or basically go anywhere … the car in front of us … completely disappeared. We corroborated what we saw , and we both saw that car in front of us for a few minutes before disappearing in front of the cop car … there’s no where it could have gone. I’m just happy my wife saw it, I feel less crazy… and to this day we can’t explain it.
