My mother & I had a conversation & one of the things she touched on is that women should be psychically punished for doing something majorly wrong.
For example, if she steals, cheats, attack someone without being provoked, etc, she should feel bad for herself & should be punished. When I mean punished, I mean beat her up. Those aren’t my words. Those are my mom’s. You know what’s crazy? She says she won’t intervene because she wanted me to realize how wrong I was & to teach me a lesson even when she feels bad seeing me being beaten up. Okay, what if he gets arrested & she’s the eyewitness & when questioned, what she’s gonna say? ‘Uh yeah I saw her get attacked but I can’t stop because she cheated on him & I gave him permission to beat her as I want tot teach her a lesson’.
My mom likes to empathize on ‘should’; as in people SHOULD feel bad for doing something wrong, embarrass themselves, or making others uncomfortable & if they don’t, she says they don’t have conscience & expects them to have a conscience right away after the infraction.
What do you guys think? Is she right? Should a woman get attacked for doing something wrong? Is there an alternate way to punish her or she can‘t be beaten up irregardless?
