I’ve been working on music for over 10 years now and over time I lost all my data and accounts due to a deep struggle with Schizophrenia, drug addiction, retrograde, and anterograde amnesia I’ve dealt with for as long as I remember. I had to start from scratch after losing all my saved tracks and all my equipment in 2022. Coming back to making music has brought and kept my life on track these past 3 years or so as I venture through my recovery.
I started out using AI images for the cover art of my albums, EPs, and singles. I even made an AI music album that I chopped up and spliced to add a human touch called Negcisum but I got bored of it and needed some truly original content to match my glitchy, wacky, moody style of production.
Then one day my feed was blessed with this subreddit. Finding the amazing art you guys make from absolutely meaningless anti-humor has brought so much joy to my life as I can express my music visually as enthusiastically as I enjoy it auditorily.
I ALWAYS ask for permission to use anyone’s nukes for my music, and I ALWAYS credit them in the credits section of each music release.
I make a lot of my music on what’s called a Dirtywave m8 which is like a gameboy for making music. Other times, I sample stuff on my Roland SP-404mkII which isn’t so original as I’m sampling existing music rather than making things from scratch.
My last release is my first venture into making rap music with my m8 beats. It’s PRETTY ROUGH, not the most mind-blowing stuff and needs a lot of mixing tweaks, but I do recommend checking out “Screwed” as it’s one of the best m8 tracks I’ve made so far. A lot of the other more recent stuff is sampled beats with the 404 and my trusty Arturia Minifreak synthesizer.
I want to shout out u/WidthMonger, u/TheCertifiedIdiot0, and especially u/rosh_099 and u/schoensmeerpijp for all the great work they do here that they’ve allowed me to use.
